For Ages 9-12
A new adventure every day is the theme of our Maine Young Adventurer’s Day and Overnight Camps. Each day campers will discover another great thing to do in Maine whether it be rock climbing on striking sea cliffs, scrambling to a bare mountaintop, exploring a cave, canoeing to a nearby island or learning primitive living skills such as shelter building and bow drill fire making. During the week campers will discover the many rewards of nature, challenge themselves and learning more about the importance of teamwork. Participants choose between day camp sessions and an optional overnight session - a great opportunity to camp and cook in a primitive campsite. No previous experience is necessary. Each session is unique, allowing participants to join in one or more sessions. Participants will earn an Acadia Mountain Guides Climbing School certificate of completion and will have an opportunity to complete the Acadia National Park Junior Ranger program. Participant pick ups / drop offs will be available in Orono at 7:30a.m./5:30p.m., Brewer at 7:50/5:15, Ellsworth at 8:30/4:30, and Bar Harbor at 9:00/ 4:00 daily.
