Whether you join us for one week or multiple weeks, our multi-sport camps give you the chance to try a wide variety of outdoor, human-powered activities. From climbing and canoeing to whitewater kayaking, rafting, hiking, and backpacking, these camps let you experience adventure across some of Maine’s best terrain. Multi-sport camps are a great way to spread your wings outside while building confidence and friendships that last a lifetime. Camp is open to participants both with and without prior outdoor experience, all you need is a healthy dose of outdoor enthusiasm.

Get outside! Acadia Mountain Guides Mountain Monkeys Rock Climbing and Adventure Camp is a great first step for youngsters wanting to try a variety of outdoor human-powered activities. A scaled down version of our Explorer and RockPro I camps for young climbers and adventurers, it provides a healthy and safe way to learn outdoor skills and build self-confidence and teamwork. All camps encourage self-discovery, responsibility, fitness, and fun.

In short, it’s all about adventure! Parents can expect small group fun and adventure in the outdoors, from safe, qualified leaders. We have designed each session to be different so a participant could do both sessions with minimal overlap. One day you may be mountain climbing up Beehive and swimming at Sand Beach, and the next day rock climbing by the sea or pulling a lobster trap to see what’s inside!

A week of adventure and exploration while sampling what Maine has to offer in the best way possible - through the outdoors! Our goals are to learn about basic camping, hiking, climbing, canoeing, and other outdoor skills to help lead your family on an outdoor adventure. Over these five days we will build friendships and independence in the great outdoors of Maine!

Five days of rock climbing and learning climbing safety skills! Our goals are to learn about basics in rock movement, belaying, rappelling, and knots.

Climbing provides a great boost in self-confidence, builds ever lasting friendships, and strengthens independence, all in the great outdoors of Maine! Each day will be a different rock climbing adventure as there are a great many rock climbs to sample from - some easy, some hard and some just right.

The RockPro I Youth Rock Climbing Camp is for kids who want to spend most of the day rock climbing. When the muscles or mind tire from climbing it will be time to hike, swim, paddle board/canoe or simply relax in nature. We explore the mountains and coastal cliffs of Acadia with some camps also traveling to the Clifton Crags and Camden Hills State Park.

Our RockPro III - Acadia Sport Climbing Camp is designed for motivated teens who want to build strong movement skills and learn the foundations of leading bolted sport climbs. Throughout the week, campers climb a wide range of steep and beautiful Acadia routes while practicing essential sport-climbing techniques such as correct bolt clipping, assessing bolt placements, transitioning from climbing to lowering or rappelling, and developing efficient movement on real rock. Many past campers have successfully led climbs from 5.5–5.12, and the program emphasizes independence, skill progression, and the confidence that comes from learning in a supportive environment.

Beyond the technical curriculum, campers spend the week strengthening friendships, building responsibility, and learning to assess risk and make safe decisions in outdoor environments. Each day blends climbing with personal goal-setting, teamwork, and Leave No Trace practices, all supported by highly trained guides. While first ascents are offered regularly at the Clifton Crags, Acadia campers may also have the opportunity to work on a new route if conditions, interest, and logistics allow. This seven-day camp can be combined with other AMG programs to build a full summer of climbing adventure. Campers should be prepared for short hikes of 2–3 miles with a 15–20 lb pack.

Our goal is to introduce campers to sport lead climbing (climbs with pre-drilled bolts). The week focuses on improving climbing techniques in steep climbs and transition from climbing to descending from fixed anchors. You will build friendships, independence, and strength in the great outdoors of Maine!

Campers will learn many essential sport climbing skills including bolt placement and assessment, correct hanger clipping, lowering off, and transitioning to rappels from climbing.

RockPro III is our advanced sport-climbing camp for motivated teens ready to take the next step into lead climbing. Throughout this week in Clifton, Maine, campers focus on learning to climb bolted sport routes and developing key technical skills such as proper bolt clipping, assessing bolt placements, transitioning from climbing to lowering or rappelling, and moving efficiently on steeper terrain. Many prior RockPro III campers have successfully led routes from 5.5–5.12, and the program emphasizes building independence, good judgment, and solid climbing movement. This camp is designed for ages 13–18, and while RockPro II is recommended, it is not required for enrollment.

Clifton offers a unique opportunity unavailable at any other session: FIRST ASCENTS with our IFMGA-certified guide Jon Tierney. Campers frequently get to help select, clean, drill, and place bolts on a brand-new route at the Clifton Crags—then try to lead it and even name it. Alongside the technical curriculum, campers spend plenty of time simply climbing, exploring different rock types, and strengthening friendships around camp. Due to the advanced nature of the program and the risks inherent in sport and lead climbing, all participants must submit an application before registering to ensure they have the foundational skills needed to get the most out of the experience.

RockPro IV is our most advanced climbing camp, designed for teens who are ready to learn traditional gear placements, climb multi-pitch routes, and take on bigger cliff objectives. This camp features a smaller student-to-guide ratio for maximum individual attention and is one of the only programs in the U.S. that teaches the basics of traditional lead climbing and takes teens on real multi-pitch climbs. Campers begin the week on Acadia’s high-quality pink granite—ideal for learning to place nuts, cams, and build anchors—then travel to New Hampshire to climb the historic routes of Cathedral and Whitehorse Ledges. Participants will work on gear placement, anchor systems, placing protection on “mock” leads, and, if they demonstrate proficiency, may have the opportunity to lead a traditional pitch.

Each day includes climbing practice with a blend of technical instruction, multi-pitch experiences, and skill development focused on safety, efficiency, and personal growth. Campers build friendships, independence, and confidence while learning to assess risk and practice sound decision-making in outdoor environments. RockPro II or equivalent experience is required, and RockPro III is strongly recommended before attending. The Master of Rock Advanced Climbing Camp is a one-of-a-kind climbing camp
for teens in the U.S. An expanded 14-day version of our RockPro IV, this camp is
highly individualized for the climber with prior climbing experience who is looking
to progress onto more challenging terrain and learn advanced technical climbing
skills.

The 14-day option offers many more opportunities for multi-pitch climbing and
skill development.
